GLORIOUS JAIPUR & TAJ CITY

Day 01 –Receive at Jaipur railway station/Airport and move to the hotel for check-in. Afternoon proceed on a half day excursion to NahargarhFort; It is located on the rugged ridge of Aravali Hills. It was built in 1734.Nahargarhmeaning abode of the tigers built by Jai Singh.

Day 02 - Jaipur Local Sightseeing

Morning excursion to Amber - capital of the old state of Dhundhar, located on the rugged hills that surround Jaipur. Ride the painted elephants up the hill, admire the massive gateways,Courts, stairways, pillared pavilions and palaces that recall the glory and wealth of Amber’s association with the Mughals. In the afternoon visit the City Palace (still houses the erstwhile Royal family); JantarMantar – the Royal Observatory and Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds) - built for the royal

Day 03: Drive to Agra en route visiting Galtaji and FatehpurSikri.

The Galtaji Temple complex (also known as Monkey Temple), is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and Sun God. This temple is known all over India for its fresh water springs and draws large crowds because the water is holy. Built by Diwan RaoK riparam in the 18th century, Said to be the place where Saint Galav meditated, this temple complex is very important in the Vaishnav cult.

Continue your drive to FatehpurSikri. This deserted, red sandstone city, built by Emperor Akbar, between 1570 and 1585, now glows in its magnificent past. This was once the capital of the Moghul Empire for a short period but later abandoned due to scarcity of water. BulundDarwaza (The Gate of Victory), which is said to be the tallest gateway in the world. In the northern part of the courtyard is the superb white marble tomb of the famous Sufi saint – ShaikSalimChishti, built in 1570 and the saint foretold the birth of a son, and in gratitude Akbar named his son Salim, who was later called by the title Jehangir.

Day 04: Visit the TAJ MAHAL (closed on Fridays). TajMahal; an extravagant marble monument of love, built by Shah Jahan in 1653 as a memorial to his queen MumtazMahal. This beautiful mausoleum in pure white marble took 22 years and 22000 craftsmen to build. Agra Fort, the original red sandstone fort built by Moghul Emperor Akbar in 1565. Later visit the Tomb of ITMAD-UD-DAULAH – To the north of Agra fort, on the opposite bank of the Yamuna, is the tomb of Mirza Ghiyas Beg, Jehingir’s wazir, also known as Itmad-ud-daulah. The tomb is also referred to as the ’baby Taj’, as it was the very first Mughal structure to be totally built from marble .Overnight stay at hotel.
